With a background in both architecture and engineering, Co-founder and Chief Design Officer Ben Silverman formulates new environments and develops the techniques to make them possible. He designs things that require extraordinary style and performance, including the recently completed facade of the new San Francisco MoMA extension which utilized modular prefabrication to integrate aluminum extrusion and advanced fiberglass technology and trades. Ben has developed and published techniques for lifecycle analysis of building materials and methods, creating an understanding of lifetime cost and sustainability. At Edenworks, Ben utilizes his design-engineering expertise and collaborative work ethos to bring together a team of engineers, biologists, builders and farmers to scale Edenworks’ mission to ensure global food security with a local food infrastructure.
