Fan Bao is the founder and CEO of China Renaissance, an independent investment bank that serves the financing and business advisory needs of China’s burgeoning technology startup community. Fan began his career with Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley during the 1990’s Internet boom. Inspired by his clients’ entrepreneurial zeal, Fan left banking to serve as chief strategy officer for a software startup. He founded China Renaissance in 2004 to dedicate himself to supporting China’s tech entrepreneurs. To date, China Renaissance has raised approximately US$26 billion in growth capital through IPOs, M&A, venture capital and bond underwritings for companies like JD.com and Weibo that are transforming China’s e-commerce, online gaming, social networking and fintech landscape.
