Jim Dehlsen has a three-decade legacy of technology development in renewable energy and is now leading Aquantis in marine current turbine development for grid and subsurface data center electric power. Named Power Engineering’s Top 10 most influential people over the past 25 years; Jim received the Lifetime Achievement Award by the American Wind Energy Association and has been referenced as the father of the American wind industry. In 1980, Jim founded Zond Corp. and as its CEO/Chairman, advanced turbine technology, manufacturing and power projects to industry leadership. GE acquired Zond in 2002, for its entry into wind energy, and for over a decade has been a wind industry global leader. Jim formed Clipper Windpower, Inc. and in 2002 launched the advanced 2.5MW Liberty turbine, deploying 2000 MW by 2010, when it was acquired by United Technologies.
