Julie Larson-Green is a renowned leader in user interface design and a pioneer in product development and engineering. She is a national thought-leader in computing and technology, and she is one of the highest ranking software and hardware engineering female leaders at Microsoft. Today, she is Chief Experience Officer for the Applications and Services group leading Office Experience Organization. Julie’s team develops tools and experiences designed to make it simpler for people to access information and accomplish tasks across their devices and services. Julie’s talent and passion for building products has made a dramatic impact to Microsoft for more than 20 years. She led the development of the Office 2007 UI known as the “ribbon” menu. During her tenure as Vice President in Windows, Julie directed the transformation of the 6,000+ employee organization to focus on building the product for the end-to-end customer experience. These efforts built an organization that was significantly more agile and responsive with a predictable product roadmap in the development of Windows. Julie’s remarkable ability to unify leaders and teams to a single mission and create a shared vision of how technology can be built in a cohesive cross-system approach has led to significant product improvements.
